The table below lists 25th Reunion Planning committee meeting times and places with links to each meetings minutes.
The 25th reunion planning is in full swing as you can tell from the meeting notes above. We would love to have feedback and/or suggestions so do not hesitate to
contact us at:
reunion@shsclassof82.org. We also invite all our classmates to attend our planning meetings, and or
get involved in any way they can.
Here is a brief synopsis of where we stand in our 25th reunion planning so far:
REUNION DATE
I received a few e-mails from classmates requesting that our reunion take place during the summer of 2007 instead of at Thanksgiving. We spoke at length about it, and
the group decided to have the reunion during Thanksgiving weekend on Saturday, November 24, 2007. However, the group also decided that we should have a summer event in 2007.
This event will be very casual and we can bring our families. Some summer location ideas: Thoreau Club in Concord, MA; Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, MA; Cedar Dale in Haverhill,
MA or Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH. In order to make the summer event happen, I’ll need one or two people to volunteer to plan it. If you have any interest, please let us know.
REUNION LOCATION
We all agreed that the reunion should take place at Casa di Fior in Wilmington, MA. Robin (Fiorenza) Macdonald and her father own it, and they will lay out the red carpet for us! Robin
told us that the ballroom was recently renovated, and she will cater to whatever menu we would like. This is a huge savings--she will waive the 18% service charge! Our last reunion meal
cost over $10,000, so that’s a savings of at least $1,800. In addition, she will have high-end liquor at our event! We all agreed that the food stations worked very well last time.
Robin also told us that we can set up a shuttle service to the Marriott Residence Inn in Woburn for any classmates wanting to stay overnight. They have an indoor pool and a buffet breakfast.
The Logan Anderson terminal is also close by.
ENTERTAINMENT
You will all be happy to know that Peter Healey has already stepped up to the plate and offered to DJ again. He did an awesome job at our
last reunion! Also Lisa suggested that we have photos of the past and of the last reunion being shown on a projector.
ATTIRE
We decided that we definitely don’t want to be as formally dressed as we were for our last reunion. However, being too casual such as jeans
didn’t appeal to the group. Business casual will most likely be the attire.
THEME
To add some fun to the night, we would like to stick to a theme. Some ideas were: Back to the 80’s, Casino Night or Hawaiian. Back to the
80’s seemed to be the most popular. However, we decided to form a theme subcommittee, and they will decide on the theme. If the 80’s is
chosen, a CD of ‘80’s songs could be made for everyone. We could also do 80’s Trivia and bring out the Class Will. If you have any
interest in deciding upon a theme, please let us know.
